Nowadays, Instagram is one of the most important platforms in ads. Different types of companies, regardless of their size, are investing in this platform, focusing specifically on posts and stories.
Even though it is relatively simple to use, it is not easy to configure the ad creation option from the Business Manager. If we wish to change or associate an ad account, which can also then pay for these ads, we must follow these steps:
To be able to create ads from the Business Manager, or change the ad account, we need:
- A Business Manager account. If you do not have one, you can follow this guide which will help you create it.
- An ad account.
- An Instagram account registered as a company account. If you do not have one, you can follow this guide which will allow you to link your personal account to a company's.
Once the previous steps have been completed, and the sessions has begun, and with the session initiated, you can proceed with following steps:
Go to Business Manager > Business Settings > Instagram Accounts.
Click + Add and Add the username and password of your Instagram Account and then click Next.
To authorise one or more of your ad accounts to use the Instagram Account, check the box next to each ad account and click next.
To assign an ad account to an Instagram account in your Business Manager:
Go to your Business Manager.
Click Business Settings > Instagram Accounts.
Click on the Instagram account you'd like to assign an ad account to.
Click Assign Ad Accounts.
To authorise one or more of your ad accounts to use the Instagram Account, check the box next to each ad account and click Save Changes.
When you access Instagram Accounts from your Settings, you should be able to see all the Instagram accounts you've added as well as any ad accounts that are authorised to use the Instagram accounts.
Keep in mind, the ad account and Instagram handle must already be in the same Business Manager in order to associate the two. You cannot associate ad accounts to Instagram accounts which are logged in a different Business Manager.
